Transport of hazardous substances

It is prohibited to transport, load, or unload hazardous materials within the municipality.
For a number of hazardous materials, a route obligation applies in NL. Some municipalities and provinces indicate the mandatory route with traffic signs. Information regarding these routes can be obtained from the municipal or regional fire department.
If you wish to deviate from the mandatory route within the municipality, for example to load or unload, you must apply for an exemption from the municipality.

What to do?

You can apply for the exemption from the municipality. Please provide the following information with your application:

the materials you wish to transport and in what quantities
the loading or unloading location within the municipality
the preferred route
the time of transport
the name of your company
approval of the vehicle by the Netherlands Vehicle Authority (RDW)
Your " licence " and your driver's license for the transport of hazardous materials
