Oversight and Enforcement

Supervision and enforcement within the municipality of Voorschoten are carried out by our supervisors and special investigative officers, also known as BOAs.

A BOA is a public official with investigative authority. This means that a BOA is authorized to investigate certain criminal offenses. They are deployed to maintain public safety.

A special enforcement officer can detain suspects and issue fines. However, a special enforcement officer is not a police officer.
