Gritting due to icy conditions in Voorschoten
Due to icy conditions, the municipality of Voorschoten has been spreading grit all week. Over the past 24 hours, black ice has made the roads especially slippery, which is why the Field Service Team carried out two additional grit-spreading operations on Thursday evening, December 15. The team was back at work early this morning as well: the employees set out in the grit truck at 5:00 a.m. In addition to main roads, they spread grit at the market, bus stops, nursing homes, shopping centers, and schools. They began a new round of gritting at 8:00 a.m. this morning. The Field Service Team is also checking where the roads are still slippery. Currently, they are also spreading grit on the side streets in the neighborhoods.
The Field Service Team will continue to spread salt throughout the day until it is safe to do so.
