De Vink Station Expanded with 392 Bike Spaces

Over the past few months, ProRail has been working on an expansion to add 392 additional bike parking spaces at De Vink Station. With this expansion, the rail network operator is responding to the growing demand for bike parking spaces and improving access to this station.

Easy and Safe Bike Parking

“Thanks and kudos to ProRail,” says Alderman Hubert Schokker, who arrives by bike. “For residents who travel by train—whether for commuting, school, or a day out visiting a museum and shopping—it’s nice to be able to park their bikes easily and safely. Thanks to this major expansion, that’s now even easier to do.”

Double-decker parking and space for cargo bikes

On the Voorschoten side, a large number of covered parking spaces have been replaced by a two-tier bicycle parking facility. On the Leiden side, the focus was on adding covered parking spaces. In addition, eight extra parking spaces have been created on both sides for larger bicycles, such as cargo bikes.

Moments Ice Cream Truck

In addition to Alderman Schokker, the festive completion ceremony was attended by, among others, Helga Cuijpers (Regional Director for Randstad Zuid at ProRail), Frederik Zevenbergen (Provincial Executive Member of South Holland), and Ashley North (Alderman for the City of Leiden). An ice cream truck from Moments was on hand for both them and the passengers in attendance.
