Work to replace the Horstlaan bridge will begin on June 24, 2024
Today, Monday, June 24, 2024, contractor Damsteegt Waterwerken will begin replacing the bridge on Horstlaan. The work will take approximately 9 weeks. Horstlaan will therefore be closed to all traffic from June 24 through Friday, August 23, 2024. The bridge will reopen on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
Accessibility During Construction Work
Residences and businesses will be less easily accessible during the construction work. Cyclists and pedestrians heading toward Wassenaar will be rerouted via Veurseweg, Rosenburgherlaan, and Langs de Raaphorst. Motorists heading toward Wassenaar will be rerouted via Veurseweg, Wijngaardenlaan, Papeweg (N448), Rijksstraat (N44), Eikenhorstlaan, and Raaphorstlaan.
No exemption required
For residents and businesses on Horstlaan, their homes or businesses can be accessed via Horstlaan and Voordelaan. These roads, which are normally reserved for bicycle and pedestrian traffic only, may be used by vehicles during the construction work. No special permit is required for this. Passing lanes will be marked on the shoulders of Horstlaan and Voordelaan so that local traffic can easily pass one another.
More information
De Horstlaan will remain accessible to emergency and first-response services. For general questions or more information, please contact Mr. P. Spiegeler, project manager for the municipality of Voorschoten, at 14071.
