Sports and exercise

With this subsidy, the municipality of Voorschoten helps sports and exercise providers to stimulate a healthy lifestyle through sports and exercise activities.

Who is it for?

The subsidy is intended for organisations that organise sports activities taking place in Voorschoten and whose membership consists of at least 50% residents of the municipality. The organisations focus on the practice of amateur sports (grassroots sports), as included in the regulations of the sports federations and the Netherlands Olympic Committee*Netherlands Sports Federation (NOC*NSF). In addition, from 2026 onwards, primary schools in Voorschoten will be eligible for the subsidy.

Activities eligible for the subsidy

There are three categories of activities eligible for a subsidy.

Category 1 concerns activities in the field of stimulating and supporting:

  • Youth sports;
  • Sports leadership (for example, strengthening the voluntary contribution of trainers or board members);
  • Adapted sports (for example, setting up sports offerings for residents with a disability);
  • Sports events/tournaments);
  • (School) sports activities and sports projects (other than school sports tournaments or broadening sports offerings);
  • Sports activities for specific groups (for example, sports groups for the elderly).

Category 2 concerns activities in the field of broadening the existing sports and exercise offerings at the sports club. The subsidy is aimed at keeping organised sports future-proof and vital.

Category 3 concerns activities in the field of organising school sports tournaments in Voorschoten by schools or sports clubs. A tournament is organised in cooperation with at least one sports club from Voorschoten. We consider it a tournament if at least two different primary schools participate.

Issues when using DigiD

Please note that national security measures may cause technical issues when applying with DigiD. Therefore, we advise you to submit your application using eHerkenning.

What is the issue with DigiD?

The application form has multiple pages. If you pause temporarily and no activity is detected for a period of time, the message 'Extend session' appears on the screen. However, due to the security measure, this does not function properly. As a result, you must log in again with DigiD.

You will not lose any data if you save the form in the meantime, but it will cost you extra time and effort.
