Debt Assistance Volunteer: First Aid for Debt and Financial Issues

Temporary support from a qualified volunteer. A Debt Assistance Buddy is a reliable local volunteer. He or she will help you get your finances back on track, free of charge. Seeking help early on can prevent you from getting into (even more) trouble.

How does it work?

  • Let's work together to list your income, expenses, and overdue payments so you can regain a clear overview.
  • After that, we work together to find solutions, in collaboration with local aid organizations if necessary or desired.
  • If it turns out that you need professional debt counseling, your mentor will put you in touch with the right people. Your mentor will also continue to support you during the process and for a while afterward.

This way, you'll eventually be able to manage your finances on your own again and avoid getting into trouble again.

What should I do?

Every Friday, there is a consultation hour at the Library (from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.), where you can come with any questions you may have. You can also sign up to volunteer here. We look forward to seeing you and helping you.

The Financial Information Center operates by appointment. To schedule an appointment, call 06-2705 8060 or send an email to fipvoorschoten@gmail.com.
