Sewer work at various locations in Voorschoten

From January through March, sewer renovation work will be taking place at various locations in Voorschoten.

The work will take place in the neighborhoods of Noord-Hofland, Bijdorp, Boschgeest, and Bloemenwijk, near Papelaan and John F. Kennedy Park, and on Koninklijke Marinelaan. Local residents will receive a letter from the contractor. Where necessary, traffic will be rerouted using traffic signs.

About the Work

The sewer is being renovated using the “relining” method. Using this modern technique, contractor GMB Leidingtechnieken is installing a new plastic pipe inside the old sewer pipe. The work is being done underground, but due to the vehicles on site, a section of the road may occasionally need to be closed off.

Chemical odor

Synthetic resin will be used during the work. This may cause a temporary chemical odor—the smell of polystyrene. This odor is not harmful. Is it bothering you? Let all the faucets run for a moment. This will help reduce any odor nuisance.
