Request sewer connection
The municipality arranges the connection of the public sewer system to private property. If your home or business is not connected to the sewerage system, you can apply for a connection with the municipality.
- The municipality is responsible for the connection up to the boundary of your property.
- On your own property, you are responsible for installing the sewerage system yourself.
How does it work?
Within the municipality, a green PVC pipe is used for a clean water connection (HWA).
And a grey PVC pipe is used for wastewater (DWA).
A standard diameter of around 125 mm is provided.
The installation depth is determined by the municipality. It depends, in part, on the elevation of the main gas and water lines.
Every applicant (owner) must install an unblocking piece in the pipe on their own property, just behind the property boundary.
There are 2 types of connections:
- combined systems
- separate systems
You need a separate system if you require a connection for the separate discharge of wastewater and rainwater.

You can apply for a sewer connection through the municipality.
Please specify the following:
- the number of connections required
- the type of sewer connection (separate or combined)
What do I need?
- A site plan.
- A statement regarding the nature of the system (separate or combined).
How long does it take?
Following your application for a sewer connection, you will receive a quote from the municipality as soon as possible.
Once the payment specified in the quote has been made, an appointment will be scheduled for the execution date.
As a rule, this takes one to two weeks following receipt of payment.
