Driver's license accepted for logging in to government websites online

Starting July 1, the Digital Government Act will take effect, and driver’s licenses can be used to log in to government websites online. Driver’s licenses issued on or after July 1, 2023, will automatically include this feature. Driver’s licenses issued on or after May 26, 2018, also have this feature, but the license holder must request a PIN code via DigiD to activate the login feature. There is a fee of €3.50 for this service. Activating this feature is not mandatory.
