Survey Results on the New Swimming Pool at Adegeest Sports Park
The new sport centre at Adegeest sports park should meet the wishes of residents as closely as possible. Therefore, the municipality conducted a survey with questions about the swimming pool. More than 600 adults and over 120 children completed it. The result is clear.
The research among both adults and youth reveals a clear picture. The new swimming pool should develop into a multifunctional swimming location, where recreation and experience take centre stage. It should also have a strong appeal to families and young people.
Increase appeal
Alderman Hubert Schokker is pleased with the many responses. “What we also gathered from the completed forms is that residents want a good balance among the various activities. This includes sufficient space for recreational swimming, lap swimming, swimming lessons, aqua fitness, and senior swimming. We also see a need for modern amenities, such as water slides, play areas for children, and wellness facilities. This will make the pool more appealing and ensure that people of all ages continue to enjoy coming to the Wedde.”
Municipal council decided
Based on the survey results, the municipality will now develop three scenarios: a functional swimming pool with one pool, a family swimming pool with two pools, and a family swimming pool with two pools and recreational facilities. To gain further insight, the “ municipal council ” will join a working visit to various swimming pools this week. After the summer, it will decide which scenario will be implemented.
