Survey Results on the New Swimming Pool at Adegeest Sports Park
The new sports center at Adegeest Sports Park should meet residents’ needs as closely as possible. That is why the municipality conducted a survey with questions about the swimming pool. More than 600 adults and over 120 children completed the survey. The results are clear.
The survey of both adults and young people paints a clear picture. The new swimming pool should evolve into a multifunctional aquatic facility where recreation and the overall experience take center stage. It should also be highly appealing to families and young people.
Increase Appeal
Councilman Hubert Schokker is pleased with the many responses. “What we also gathered from the completed forms is that residents want a good balance among the various activities. This includes sufficient space for recreational swimming, lap swimming, swimming lessons, aqua fitness, and senior swimming. We also see a need for modern amenities, such as water slides, play areas for children, and wellness facilities. This will increase the pool’s appeal and ensure that people of all ages continue to enjoy coming to the Wedde.”
City Council Decides
Based on the survey results, the municipality will now develop three scenarios: a functional swimming pool with one pool, a family swimming pool with two pools, and a family swimming pool with two pools and recreational facilities. To gain further insight, the city council will join a working visit to various swimming pools this week. After the summer, it will decide which scenario will be implemented.
