The Voorschoten Municipal Cleaning Department is participating in a nationwide day of action

The Cleaning and Waste Collection Department of the municipality of Voorschoten will be closed on Wednesday, February 15. No trash will be collected or cleaned up that day. The employees are participating in the nationwide day of action to demand a better collective bargaining agreement.

At the initiative of the FNV, municipal employees will go on strike on Wednesday, February 15, to force through a better collective bargaining agreement. The unions are demanding a 12 percent wage increase, but the Association of Netherlands Municipalities (VNG) is unwilling to go beyond 8 percent spread over two years.

Closed on Wednesdays

Employees of the Cleaning and Collection Department of the municipality of Voorschoten are also participating in the national day of action. Therefore, the department will be closed on February 15. On that day, mini-containers for general waste and paper will not be collected; underground containers for paper and glass will not be emptied; bulky waste and items left near recycling centers will not be picked up; and you will not be able to bring small chemical waste (KCA) to Koninklijke Marinelaan.

Back to work on Thursday and Friday

On Thursday and Friday, the staff of the Cleaning and Collection Department will be back at work. This means your mini-container can remain outside, though it may take a few days for the staff to empty all the mini-containers. The municipality thanks you for your understanding.
