Regional agenda for the 2040 environmental vision

On July 6, 2017, the Voorschoten Municipal Council ( municipal council ) adopted the “Regional Agenda for the 2040 Environmental Vision: The Heart of Holland.”

Status

It is the joint product of the ten municipalities: Kaag en Braassem, Katwijk, Leiden, Leiderdorp, Noordwijk, Oegstgeest, Teylingen, Voorschoten, Wassenaar and Zoeterwoude. As the name suggests, the agenda is an agenda-setting document. It is used as a regional framework for local environmental visions.

Content

Over the past year, the ten municipalities have worked together with residents, businesses, and institutions on a shared vision for the future of our region. 'The Heart of Holland: regional agenda for the 2040 environmental vision' ensures that spatial development in the region towards 2040 is better coordinated. This is important for the quality of the physical living environment. Regional coordination is important because many developments transcend municipal borders or have cross-border effects. The challenges and values will be further elaborated regionally and translated by each municipality for its own territory.
