Police Seek Witnesses to Recent Arson Incidents in Leiden and Voorschoten

Several arson incidents occurred at De Vink train station, on the border between Leiden and Voorschoten, during the night of Wednesday, August 7, to Thursday, August 8. The investigation is in full swing. The police are looking for witnesses and surveillance footage.

De Vink Station

At approximately 1:15 a.m., a bicycle fire was reported at the bicycle parking area on Alexandrine Tinneplein near the station. Upon arrival, officers found a bicycle and a scooter on fire. Around 2:15 a.m., a report came in of a vehicle fire in the parking lot of De Vink Station on the Trompplein side. Upon arrival, officers found two cars on fire.

Fire department on the scene

The third report came in at 5:00 a.m. This report concerned a vehicle fire at Tromplein. Upon arrival, it was found that three vehicles were on fire. The fire department responded to all three fires to extinguish them. All of the burned-out vehicles were impounded for further investigation.
