Participation declaration

The participation declaration is a document that newcomers in the Netherlands must sign to demonstrate their commitment to and understanding of Dutch society. It is an important part of the civic integration process and aims to promote the integration of newcomers. The declaration emphasizes values, rights, and obligations that apply in the Netherlands, such as freedom, equality, and participation.

Do you need to start the integration program on or after October 1, 2017? And are you registered with the municipality as a “ enrolled ”? If so, you must learn about what is important in the Netherlands and sign the participation statement. Children under the age of 18 are not required to participate or sign the statement. Neither are seniors who are already receiving a pension (AOW).

How does it work?

Newcomers must complete a participation declaration program, which typically consists of a series of meetings and workshops in which they are introduced to Dutch society, norms and values, and their rights and obligations. They also learn about the Dutch labour market and how they can contribute to society. labour market

What to do?

To sign the Declaration of Participation, newcomers must take part in the participation declaration programme offered by Vluchtelingen Werk. This programme generally includes informative sessions, workshops, and group discussions to increase knowledge and understanding of Dutch society. After completing the programme, newcomers can sign the Declaration of Participation.

Vluchtelingen Werk Nederland

Vluchtelingen Werk Nederland provides the Participation Declaration course in this municipality. The participation declaration is not an exam with DUO. Vluchtelingen Werk Nederland will send you a letter regarding this. If you still have questions about the Declaration of Participation or if you have not received a letter, you can call your civic integration consultant in the municipality of Leidschendam/Voorburg. Upon completing this programme, you will sign the participation declaration as a symbolic step towards full integration.
