Parking Study in the Municipality of Voorschoten

The municipality of Voorschoten is going to assess the parking situation throughout the village. The research firm Trajan is conducting this study. Counts will be taken by a scanning vehicle driving through the area and by field workers on foot. This scanning vehicle focuses on recording vehicle counts and will therefore not collect any privacy-sensitive data. The field workers can be recognized by their red vests with “traffic survey” printed on the back.

The survey will take place on Thursday, November 10, in the afternoon and that evening. A count will be conducted on Saturday, November 12, in the afternoon. The municipality will use the data collected to, among other things, assess parking demand in the vicinity of future construction projects, address residents’ complaints about parking, and expand the number of accessible parking spaces and charging station locations.
