"Pearl of Voorschoten" Award for Mr. Jaap Ransijn
On Saturday, April 2, Mayor Stemerdink presented Mr. Jaap Ransijn with a “Pearl of Voorschoten” award for nearly 38 years of volunteer work in Voorschoten. The award was presented at Museum Voorschoten.
Over the past seven years, as a board member of Museum Voorschoten, Mr. Ransijn has made a significant contribution to the museum’s development. His significance to Museum Voorschoten lay primarily in his tireless dedication to the museum’s professionalization. This involved, in particular, personnel policy and the organization and management of the Hospitality, Food and Beverage, and Technical Services teams. Thanks in part to his efforts, Museum Voorschoten has become an accredited museum and meets the European quality standards for museums.
Before joining the museum, Mr. Ransijn spent more than 30 years involved with the soccer club “de Bosch Boys” in various administrative and coaching roles. De Bosch Boys was an informal neighborhood club in Boschgeest, where an enthusiastic group of dedicated older soccer players were active. He also served as coordinator of the girls’ soccer program at Voorschoten ’97 for over two years starting in 2007.
