E-bike Charging Station in Downtown Voorschoten
This afternoon, Councilman Hubert Schokker, together with a delegation from the Voorschoten Cyclists’ Association and Danny de Bruijn, director of InfraMarks, officially opened an e-bike charging station. Starting today, people can charge their e-bikes for free in downtown Voorschoten.
The charging station is located on Treubplein. Councilman Hubert Schokker said, “By placing the charging station right in the heart of our village, the shopping area is more accessible to residents, tourists, and people from the surrounding area who come by electric bike, among others. This encourages people to use bicycles, and hopefully leads them to choose the car less often.”
Easy to use
With four outlets, similar to those found in homes, the charging station allows users to charge their bikes. Using the bike’s charger, users can simply plug it into one of the outlets to charge the bike’s battery—as well as those of scooters or mobility scooters, of course.
More and more cyclists
Every year, the number of electric bikes in the Netherlands continues to rise. As a result, demand for high-quality and safe charging stations in public spaces is naturally increasing as well. Councilmember Schokker: “By installing this e-bike charging station, we as a municipality are investing in sustainability and in a bicycle network. It’s no coincidence that installing a charging station for e-bikes was one of the points in our coalition program. In this way, we are collectively making a positive contribution to the development of sustainable urban mobility and a greener, healthier living environment.”
Solar Energy
InfraMarks’ e-bike charging stations are equipped with a solar panel. The electricity generated by the solar panel is stored in an internal battery, ensuring that enough energy is available even on less sunny days. The charging station provides enough power to charge twelve bicycles, scooters, or mobility scooters per day.
