Draft Noise Action Plan Available for Public Review
Effective Tuesday, July 16, 2024, the Municipality of Voorschoten will make the draft Noise Action Plan available for public review for nine weeks. The purpose of the Noise Action Plan is to reduce any noise pollution and thereby improve the residential and living environment. The plan specifically addresses road traffic noise originating from municipal roads.
To find out how residents experience noise pollution in Voorschoten, we used both calculations and residents’ experiences. Residents shared these experiences through an online survey earlier this year. The Action Plan was drawn up based on these calculations and the results of the survey.
The Action Plan contains proposals for noise-reduction measures. It also specifies the level of noise that is considered acceptable. We refer to this as the plan threshold. We have investigated whether it is possible and realistic to lower the plan thresholds and thereby reduce traffic noise for more homes.
