Renewing your driver's license online is now possible starting today, September 12

Voorschoten is participating in a pilot program

Starting September 12, residents of Voorschoten can renew their driver’s licenses quickly and securely online via the website of the National Road Traffic Authority (RDW). After two business days, they can pick up their new driver’s license at the Civil Affairs Department of the municipality of Voorschoten. This can be done without an appointment on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

How It Works

The online renewal process begins with having a new passport photo taken. This must be done at a photographer’s studio approved by the RDW. A list of these photographers can be found on the RDW website.

The photographer sends the passport photo, along with the applicant's signature, to the RDW. The RDW compares the photo using special software. Once the photo has been approved, the driver's license can then be applied for online using DigiD.

Trial

Voorschoten is constantly working to make its services even more convenient. That is why we are participating in this nationwide pilot program. The pilot will last at least one year.
