Environmental plan view

A zoning plan ( environmental plan ) specifies how the land in an area and the buildings on it may be used. For example, an area may be designated for businesses or, conversely, for residential use only. The Spatial Planning Act ( municipal council ) determines the content of a zoning plan ( environmental plan ).

How does it work?

If you want to know the zoning designation for an area—for example, if you're buying a house or planning to start a business—the " environmental plan " provides answers to questions such as:

  • Are construction or renovation permitted?
  • Are companies allowed to establish themselves here?
  • How may a piece of land be used?
  • Are roads allowed to be constructed?
