View the Environmental Plan

If you want to know what's in the environmental plan for a specific area, you can view it through " Regulations on the Map."

An environmental plan specifies how the land in an area and the buildings on it may be used. For example, an area may be designated for businesses or, conversely, for residential use only. The city council determines the contents of an environmental plan.

How does it work?

If you want to know the designated use of an area—for example, if you’re buying a house or starting a business—the land-use plan answers questions such as:

  • Is construction or renovation permitted?
  • Are companies allowed to set up operations here?
  • How may a piece of land be used?
  • Is it permitted to build roads?
