West Holland Environmental Agency

As of July 1, 2014, the municipality of Voorschoten transferred its responsibilities regarding the issuance of permits, supervision, and enforcement of environmental regulations to the West-Holland Environmental Agency. The Omgevingsdienst issues environmental permits and enforces environmental regulations at businesses. In addition to Voorschoten, the Omgevingsdienst also serves other municipalities in the region. Environmental Complaint Hotline

You can contact the Environmental Complaints Hotline at with your environmental complaints about businesses. Environmental complaints may involve, for example, noise, odors, soil contamination, or air pollution. The Environmental Service will then verify whether the business is complying with environmental regulations. You can also report (suspected) earthmoving and excavation activities. The Environmental Services Department does not handle complaints about waste from private individuals or aircraft noise.

On the Bas website, , you’ll find news and background information about air traffic at Schiphol, flight paths, runway use, and aircraft noise. You can ask a question or file a complaint through the website.

BAS forwards your inquiry to Schiphol, Air Traffic Control, or the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. BAS records complaints but cannot take any action on its own. The collected complaints are discussed in the Schiphol Regional Consultation Committee (CROS). You can reach BAS by phone at 020-60 15 555. BAS is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including weekends.
