What is the NK-Tegelwippen
The NK-tegelwippen is an annual, national competition in which municipalities challenge each other to see who can replace the most tiles, asphalt or other paving with greenery. Greenery instead of tiles ensures that various animals such as butterflies and bees can better survive in towns and cities. Making your garden greener also ensures that water can drain away better during heavy rainfall and prevents water nuisance. Furthermore, plants provide more shade and cooling; on hot summer days, this can make a difference of up to 5 degrees.
