Suggest a New Street Name
When a new street is added to our village, the municipality initiates a process to name it. If you have a good idea for a new street name, you can submit a proposal.
How does it work?
Do you have a good suggestion for a new street name? There are a few rules that names must follow:
1. The name is clear, easy to pronounce, and not too long.
2. The name does not resemble any existing names.
3. The name should fit in with its surroundings. Consider the surrounding spaces and/or the history of the surrounding area.
4. The name does not refer to a company, unless the company has played a special role in the history or tradition of Voorschoten.
5. Does the name refer to a person? If so, that person must have been deceased for at least 10 years and must have been born in Voorschoten, or at least have lived in Voorschoten.
6. Members of the Royal Family may, however, be appointed during their lifetime.
