Appointment
You can make an appointment online at Make an appointment for an exploratory meeting. You can only make an appointment at Make an appointment if you live in Voorschoten and your address enrolled is listed in the Personal Records Database (BRP). During your first appointment, we will determine whether you meet the Requirements and provide you with more information about the next steps.

Are you also applying for Dutch citizenship for your child who is 12 years of age or older? If so, your child must accompany you to the appointment.
The naturalisation ceremony
When you obtain Dutch nationality, you will receive an invitation from the municipality to attend an official gathering. This mandatory gathering is called the naturalisation ceremony. You only officially become a Dutch citizen once you make the declaration of solidarity during the ceremony. By doing so, you promise to respect the freedoms and rights associated with Dutch citizenship. Was your child 16 years of age or older when the application was submitted? If so, they are also required to attend the ceremony. Children under 16 are not required to attend, but are welcome to do so.
