Muskrat
Musk rats and coypu cause a great deal of damage. To ensure the safety of the water system—and thus the safety of our dikes—musk rats and coypu are actively controlled.
You can recognize a muskrat by its stocky build, broad, blunt head, and ears that are almost hidden in its fur. Its back is medium to dark brown, sometimes grayish or chestnut brown, while its belly is lighter in color. It has a fairly long tail that is flattened on the sides, but in any case, the tail is shorter than its body. (19–27.5 cm). The muskrat has small webbed feet between its toes. An adult muskrat measures between 28 and 40 centimeters.
