Monique Leliefeld Receives the "Pearl of Voorschoten" Award
Monique Leliefeld received a “Pearl of Voorschoten” today. She was awarded the honor for her many years of volunteer work at Museum Voorschoten. Mayor Nadine Stemerdink presented the award during the opening of the exhibition “The British School in the Netherlands.”

Over the past fifteen years, Monique has designed and curated numerous exhibitions at Museum Voorschoten. She conceived the themes, wrote the texts, and planned the layout of the exhibition space. “The British School in the Netherlands” is her latest exhibition. She created it in collaboration with school archivist Mike Weston. Ambassador Joanna Roper and headteacher Patrick Heuff were also present at the opening.
Two exhibitions per year
Preparations for an exhibition take about a year. Monique was usually the driving force behind two exhibitions a year. In addition to her work as an exhibition staff member, she also temporarily served as coordinator of the exhibition team, which consists of ten permanent members.
