Notification central election commission

If you suspect that a counting error was made by a polling station or municipal polling station when counting the votes, you can report this to the central polling station. This concerns reports of potential errors in the records of the polling stations and the municipal polling stations, or in the digital file of the municipal polling station.

You can report a potential counting error from 19 March until no later than 24 March at 10:00 AM (48 hours before the session of the central polling station). Reports received after this time can no longer be processed.  

You can file an objection by emailing verkiezingen@voorschoten.nl, by mail, or by visiting the town hall. A Make an appointment is not required.

Requirements

  • You must report the potential counting error in writing to the central polling station. This cannot be done by telephone or via social media.
  • Your report must be received by the central polling station before 24 March 2026 at 10:00 AM.
  • Your report must concern potential errors in the counting of the votes in the record or the digital file containing the municipality's results. These are errors that the municipal polling station can correct.
  • Your report must be substantiated and specific. Simply stating that an error was made is not sufficient. You must clearly indicate what the exact error is and which polling station it concerns.
  • Your report must concern something you have witnessed yourself, and not something heard through hearsay. For example: “I voted for candidate X and cannot find my vote.” Not: “I heard that the votes were not counted correctly at polling station X.” Or: “My neighbour says he voted for candidate X and that vote cannot be found.”   

Filing an objection during a hearing

You can also file an objection during the hearing of the central electoral committee on March 26 at 10:00 AM. This hearing is public and will be held in the council chamber. You must be personally present for this.
