Report from the Central Election Commission

If you suspect that a counting error was made at a polling station or municipal election board while counting the votes, you can report this to the Central Election Board. This refers to reports of any errors in the official records of the polling stations and municipal election boards or in the municipal election board’s digital file. 

File a Report

You can report a possible counting error from March 19 until no later than 10:00 a.m. on March 24 (48 hours before the Central Election Commission’s meeting). We cannot process reports received after that time.  

You can file an objection by emailing verkiezingen@voorschoten.nl, by mail, or by visiting City Hall. No appointment is necessary.

Terms and Conditions

  • You must report the possible counting error in writing to the central election board. You cannot do this by phone or through social media.
  • Your report must be received by the Central Election Commission by 10:00 a.m. on March 24, 2026.
  • Your report must concern any errors in the counting or tallying of votes in the official record or the municipality’s digital file containing the results. These are errors that the municipal election board can correct.
  • Your report must be substantiated and specific. Simply stating that a mistake was made is not enough. You must clearly indicate exactly what the mistake is and which polling station is involved.
  • Your report must be based on something you witnessed yourself—not on hearsay. For example: “I voted for candidate X and cannot find my vote.” Not: “I heard that the votes were not counted correctly at polling station X.” Or: “My neighbor says he voted for candidate X, but that vote cannot be found.”   

Filing an objection during a hearing

You may also file an objection during the Central Election Board’s hearing on March 26 at 10:00 a.m. This hearing is open to the public and will be held in the council chamber. You must be present in person to do so.
