Light Festival on Friday, December 13, at Rosenburgh Memorial Park
As the year comes to a close, we find ourselves thinking more often of our departed loved ones. The desire to feel the presence of that one special person is especially strong at this time. That is why the Municipality of Voorschoten is organizing an Evening of Lights on Friday, December 13, at Rosenburgh Memorial Park. The Evening of Lights offers a moment of remembrance and warmth, like a shining star in a dark sky.
The cemetery will be illuminated on Friday, December 13, between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Bereaved family members can visit the cemetery and place candles on the graves. Visitors may bring their own candle or receive one from the cemetery. Coffee and tea will be served in the cemetery’s auditorium, accompanied by music. Those who have buried or cremated a loved one elsewhere may light a candle here.
Theme
This year’s theme is “star.” High above the clouds—right next to the moon—I see you as the most beautiful star—shining among a thousand lights.
Memorial for Deceased Children
Prior to the Evening of Lights, as in previous years, the municipality is offering everyone the opportunity to attend a brief gathering in memory of children who have passed away. This special gathering will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the cemetery auditorium (doors open at 5:45 p.m.). The children will be honored and remembered by lighting a candle, saying their names, listening to music, and sharing words of comfort and poems. Brothers, sisters, parents, grandparents, and other family members who feel a connection are welcome to attend.

Please also include in your email the number of people attending, as well as the name of the deceased child and their date of birth and date of death. You are also welcome to include a nice photo of the child. The deadline for registration is Monday, December 9, at 12:00 p.m.

Jansland Tea House Opens
