Royal Honour

Only an association or organization that has existed for at least 50 years can receive a Royal Medal of EN DE Honour. The Royal Medal of EN DE Honour is presented during the celebration of the 50th anniversary, or at subsequent 25-year intervals (for example, the 75th or 100th anniversary). In very exceptional cases, an exception may be made. A federation or umbrella organization cannot receive the Royal Medal of EN DE Honour.

• You apply for the Royal Medal of EN DE Honour through the municipality. Please do this in the municipality where your association or organization is established.
• Clearly explain why your association or institution deserves the Royal Honour. Provide information about the history, the purpose of the association, and the type of activities.
• Submit your application at least 6 months before the desired presentation date. You will automatically be notified whether you will receive the Royal Honour.

The Royal Honour is different from the 'Royal' predicate. An association or institution with the Royal Honour is not allowed to call itself 'Royal'.
