Charging from home via a cable channel

Do you not have a parking space on your own property, such as a driveway, garage, or carport, but would you like to charge your car using your own electricity? In some cases, this is possible. If there are public parking spaces along the pavement near your home, you can submit an application for a cable channel. You can place your own charging cable in this channel.

Installation and costs of cable channel

  • The municipality will install the cable channel for you. You only pay the costs for the materials amounting to € 300 including VAT. The municipality pays the installation costs;
  • The cable channel tiles are and remain the property of the municipality of Voorschoten;
  • The parking space remains public and can therefore also be used by other motorists. 

When are you eligible?

  • You are a resident of the municipality of Voorschoten;
  • You are located at enrolled at the address for which the cable trench is being requested;
  • You own or lease an electric car;
  • You do not have a parking space on your own property;
  • The public parking space is directly adjacent to the pavement in front of your house;
  • The cable channel does not cross a road, green area, or bicycle path. The cable channel only crosses the pavement;
  • The charging point including the connector is located on your own property;
  • A cable channel may be a maximum of 330 cm long;
  • A maximum of 11 tiles measuring 30x30 cm.
