Jan Wagtendonkstraat

Between Jan Wagtendonkstraat and Verzetstrijderspad lies a plot of land that is currently used as a soccer field. This plot is zoned for residential use. Due to the high demand for affordable housing in Voorschoten, the municipality plans to build social housing units on this site. Involvement of local residents is important. A core group of residents is therefore speaking with the municipality on behalf of the neighborhood residents. Input from local residents will be taken into account when developing design options and selecting a preferred model.

Rijnhart Wonen is working with the municipality to explore the possibilities for new development on the lot. The planning framework being developed by the municipality will specify, among other things, the maximum size of the building, how parking will be arranged, and how we will handle green spaces and trees.

Current Status

In June 2024, Rijnhart Wonen signed a letter of intent with the municipality of Voorschoten for the development of public housing at this location.RijnhartWonen is now exploring ways to ensure that a new building fits well into the surrounding area. Various design options are being developed.

Participation

The municipality considers it important to hear what local residents consider important. The feedback provided by local residents will be incorporated into the design study. Rijnhart Wonen, in collaboration with the municipality, is organizing meetings for local residents. A core group of residents is helping to determine how best to structure the participation process.
