Comprehensive inspections of businesses and residences

The comprehensive inspection focused on building and fire safety, as well as on entries in the Basic Registration of Persons (BRP). Through these inspections, the municipality, together with its partners, aims to prevent abuses and improve safety and quality of life.

Everything in Order

“The fact that the inspection team found no violations at most of the locations is a positive result,” says Mayor Nadine Stemerdink. “It shows that many business owners and residents have their affairs in order. Especially when it comes to building and fire safety, we must all do what we can to prevent accidents, both major and minor. That’s how we’ll keep Voorschoten a great village to live and work in.”

BRP‑Audits lead to new registrations

BRPinspections were also conducted during the campaign. This led to new registrations and the initiation of several address investigations. In this way, the municipality is working to maintain an up-to-date and reliable population registry, which is important for public services and safety. Fire safety standards were found to be inadequate at one residence. The fire department and the municipality are taking follow-up steps to rectify the situation.

Administrative Intervention Team

Comprehensive inspections are conducted by the Voorschoten municipal administrative intervention team, which includes building and fire safety inspectors, enforcement officers, “ BRP” inspectors, and partners in the supply chain. Depending on the purpose of the inspection, other partners may also participate. Through this comprehensive approach, the municipality identifies risks early on and takes targeted action where necessary.
