Comprehensive audit at a company in Voorschoten
The Hague Economic Intervention Team (HEIT), in collaboration with the municipality of Voorschoten and the police, conducted a comprehensive inspection. This took place on March 7 at a business on Van Beethovenlaan. The Dutch Labor Inspectorate and the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) conducted on-site investigations into several violations related to working conditions and hygiene.
The participating organizations identified violations related to hygiene. In addition, a large portion of the staff present was not working in compliance with labor laws and regulations. For example, a 13-year-old food delivery worker was found to still be working late in the evening. In any case, food delivery by children under the age of 16 is not permitted. In addition, two individuals receiving public benefits were found to be working, and there were two potential violations of the Foreign Nationals Employment Act. The Dutch Labor Inspectorate is conducting a further investigation.

“Thanks to this close collaboration, we’re tackling subversion at its roots,” explains Mayor Nadine Stemerdink. “Whether it’s ensuring employees are treated fairly or handling food products—we’ll continue to conduct these comprehensive inspections. In doing so, we’re improving the safe and fair business environment in our village.”
