Drop-in session on WarmtelinQ at the Bondsgebouw

The municipality of Voorschoten is organizing a walk-in meeting about WarmtelinQ heat on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. This can be a source for affordable, reliable, and sustainable heating of homes and buildings when natural gas is no longer available. Residents from all over Voorschoten are very welcome in the Bondsgebouw (Leidseweg 100) between 17:00 and 20:00.

In the Bondsgebouw, residents can share their thoughts on heating without natural gas in general and heat from WarmtelinQ in particular. The municipality is curious to know whether residents also see WarmtelinQ as one of the possibilities for a joint heating system (also known as a heat network). Voorschoten is preparing for a sustainable future, which means, among other things, that homes and buildings will be heated without natural gas. Therefore, we must find an alternative to natural gas.

Joint or individual

For many homes, a heat pump is an available option that residents can purchase on their own. In 2021, the City of Amsterdam ( municipal council ) indicated that it would also like to explore options for shared heat connections in Map . This would allow a group of homes or even an entire neighborhood to be connected to a shared heating system, also known as a heat network.

Council resolution on WarmtelinQ

One of the potential sources for a district heating network is waste heat from the Port of Rotterdam. This heat is transported to the region via WarmtelinQ’s pipelines. The “ municipal council ” will make a council decision before the summer on whether heat from WarmtelinQ will be one of the options for the shared heating system in (parts of) Voorschoten in the future.

Walk-in meeting

The wishes, expectations, concerns, and questions that residents share during the drop-in session will be forwarded to the “ municipal council.” This group will then be aware of the issues at hand and can take this input into account when making a decision. Information about the transition to natural gas-free homes and the WarmtelinQ program will also be available during the drop-in session.
