Open House for the Trompweg-Burgemeester Bouvy-Koenelaan Intersection

Burgemeester Bouvy-Koenelaan. That is the name of the road the municipality is having built through the new Het Fortuyn residential neighborhood in Voorschoten. On Thursday, January 26, the municipality is hosting an open house for local residents and future residents.

The new residential neighborhood Het Fortuyn van Voorschoten will be built on the former site of Intratuin. Commissioned by developer Synchroon, Niersman is constructing 33 affordable housing units and 96 owner-occupied homes there. Construction is expected to be completed by mid-2024.

Concrete blocks

A 50-kilometer road is being built through the residential area: Burgemeester Bouvy-Koenelaan. This road will connect to Trompweg in the municipality of Voorschoten. For this reason, the intersection at that location is being renovated. The road and this intersection will be completed in about a year.

Concrete blocks are currently making the nearby Leidseweg-Trompweg intersection easier to navigate. As a result, the traffic lights are no longer needed. In January, the municipality will remove the entire system so that it can be used at another location in Voorschoten.

Neighbors and future residents

The municipality is inviting residents living near the intersection and future residents of Het Fortuyn van Voorschoten to an open house on January 26 at the Alettahof community center. The municipality’s project manager will be on hand to answer any questions.

Those interested can register by emailing trompweg@voorschoten.nl. For more information, please visit the municipality’sproject page.
