Public Information Session on the Redevelopment of Treubplein

The Municipality of Voorschoten invites residents and business owners to an open house regarding the redevelopment of Treubplein. The event will take place on Tuesday, July 8, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Bondsgebouw, located at Leidseweg 100. Interested parties are welcome to drop by at any time to ask questions of city officials and the design firm.

At the request of the city council, the municipality of Voorschoten, together with residents and business owners, explored ways to make downtown Voorschoten an even more pleasant place to work, shop, and relax. The result was the Downtown Development Vision, which the city council adopted in 2023.

Redesign of Treubplein

When drawing up the Downtown Development Vision, it was decided to start with Treubplein. We will be redesigning Treubplein to create more space for outdoor seating and gathering areas. We presented our initial ideas at the information evening on November 13, 2024, at the Dorpskerk. After that, a focus group also began its work. At the upcoming open house at the Bondsgebouw, we look forward to showing you where we stand now.

Open House at the Union Building

During the open house, visitors will be able to view, among other things, a clear map and cross-sectional drawings of Treubplein. A 3D rendering of the Treubplein design has also been created, so that interested parties can get a realistic idea of what the square will look like. Of course, there will be ample opportunity to ask questions about green spaces, parking, and planning, or about submitting a statement of opinion. Residents can consult the experts at the tables regarding the following topics:

  1. The Visual Quality Plan, or the implementation plan for the Downtown Development Vision.
  2. The preliminary design for the redevelopment of Treubplein.
  3. The draft traffic regulation for the redesign of Treubplein.
  4. The environmental permit for the redevelopment of Treubplein.
  5. The process and the schedule.
