Individual Income Supplement

The Individual Income Supplement is intended for people who have had a low income for an extended period of time. You will receive this benefit if there is no prospect of your income improving.

Payment

The municipality determines the amount of the individual income supplement and pays it out once a year. You are free to spend the supplement as you wish.

How does it work?

You are eligible for the individual income supplement if you meet the following conditions:

  • You are between the ages of 21 and the retirement age.
  • You have had a low income for a long time. The municipality determines what constitutes “low for a long time.”
  • Your assets do not exceed the applicable social assistance threshold.
  • You have no prospect of a raise.
  • You have not received an individual income supplement in the past 12 months.

The municipality may impose additional conditions.
