Becoming a purveyor to the royal household

Hofleverancier is a Royal distinction (predicate). You can apply for this predicate from the mayor. Your company is then permitted to use the Royal coat of arms and add the title 'By Royal Appointment Purveyor to the Royal Household'.

How does it work?

Only the king can confer the Hofleverancier predicate. You can obtain the predicate on the occasion of a special anniversary of your company (100th, 125th, 150th, and so forth). Sometimes you may also receive it for a very exceptional event within the company. You may use the title Hofleverancier for a maximum of 25 years, after which you can apply for an extension.

On the website of The Dutch Royal House, you can read about the requirements you must meet to obtain the Hofleverancier predicate.

What to do?

  • Submit an application to the mayor of the municipality.
  • Do this in the municipality where your company is established.
  • Clearly explain why your company honoures the Hofleverancier predicate.
  • Submit your application at least nine months in advance.

You will automatically receive notice as to whether you are granted the Hofleverancier predicate. You are usually presented with the corresponding certificate by the King's Commissioner or the mayor.

What do I need?

  • proof of your company's establishment date
  • balance sheets from the past five years
  • description of financial projections for the coming years
