Municipal Health Insurance Policy Transferred to Zorg en Zekerheid

Residents with lower incomes can enroll in a special health insurance plan through the municipality, known as the municipal policy. On January 1, 2024, the municipality will switch from Menzis to Zorg en Zekerheid. This is important news for residents who are already enrolled in the municipal policy as well as for those who are not yet enrolled.

Municipal Insurance Policyholder

The main advantage of the municipal health insurance plan is that you’re well covered if you need medical care. You’ll receive comprehensive coverage for dental care, physical therapy, orthodontics, and eyeglasses. You’ll also receive a discount on supplemental insurance, and the municipality will pay a portion of the premium.

Switch Providers

Are you already using the municipal health insurance plan? And do you want to continue using it? If so, you’ll need to switch to Zorg en Zekerheid. Not using the municipal health insurance plan yet? You can switch then, too. Switching is quick and easy at www.gezondverzekerd.nl/voorschoten. It’s important that you do this before January 1, 2024.
