Municipal health insurance policy

Do you have a low income and high healthcare costs? If so, you can sign up for the Voorschoten municipal health insurance plan (group health insurance). You can purchase this insurance through the health insurers Health and Zekerheid.

The main advantage of the municipal health insurance plan is that you are well-covered if you need Health . You receive comprehensive coverage for dental care, physical therapy, orthodontics, and eyeglasses. You also receive a discount on supplemental insurance, and the municipality pays a portion of the premium.

What you need to know

  • Children up to the age of 18 are insured free of charge.
  • Are you currently insured with a different health insurer? You can switch health insurers every year. You can do this up to and including 31 December.
  • You pay a deductible of € 385. You can apply for installment payments with the health insurer.
  • The insurance policies consist of a basic health insurance with the option of supplementary health insurance. Information about the various packages can be found at gezondverzekerd.nl/voorschoten. 

Requirements

  • Your income is lower than 130% of the assistance standard.
  • Your assets do not exceed the asset limit.
  • If your income and assets are not known to the municipality, supporting documents are required to assess whether you are eligible for the municipal health insurance policy.   • If you have submitted an application via the Ockto app, you will receive an invitation to share your data.
