The Pearl of Voorschoten
The Pearl of Voorschoten is a crystal object created by Sommer Dutch Glass Art in Leerdam. The Pearl is awarded to individuals who have shown exceptional dedication to Voorschoten for more than 15 years, or who have achieved something unique, such as winning a regional or (inter)national championship.
The award is granted only if the mayor and aldermen unanimously approve it. An anniversary, a farewell, or another special occasion may be a reason to apply for the Parel. The application may be submitted by an individual, an organization, or the municipality itself.
Important Terms and Conditions
- Anyone can receive the Pearl, as long as they have demonstrated a commitment to Voorschoten.
- The awarding of a "Parel" is neither a favor nor a right. It is a recognition of the achievements of a person, institution, or company.
- Awards are always made impartially.
- The municipality strives for a fair distribution among all groups in society.
- The nominee has not yet received a royal decoration for the same volunteer service.
Applications
You can submit your application directly online. Please do so at least four months before the scheduled award date. You will then be notified of the decision.
