Municipal Health Service (GGD)

Every municipality is required to promote public health ( healthcare ) and combat infectious diseases. To this end, municipalities have established the Municipal Health Services (GGD). For more information, please contact the GGD with which your municipality is affiliated.

During a disaster, the GGD collaborates with the Medical Assistance in Accidents and Disasters organization (GHOR).

In the event of a nationwide epidemic, the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment ( centre ) Division of Infectious Disease Control (CIb) coordinates and supports the municipality in this task.
