City Invites Residents to a Fireworks Show
A fireworks show featuring 100% decorative fireworks. The municipality of Voorschoten cordially invites all residents to attend. The countdown will take place on New Year’s Eve between 10:00 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. at the Voorschoten ’97 soccer club.
This year marks the first time there will be a nationwide fireworks ban. To welcome the New Year in a festive, safe, and community-building way, the municipality is organizing a central fireworks show for all ages. The fireworks will be set off on Field 2 at the Voorschoten '97 soccer club.

“The show consists entirely of decorative fireworks,” says Mayor Nadine Stemerdink. “We’re currently working hard on the preparations. People of all ages can watch the show from the cafeteria and the bleachers near Field 1. Of course, the fireworks will also be clearly visible from outside the grounds. We’ll be inviting everyone with a colorful ad in the Voorschotense Krant and Groot Voorschoten at the end of November and the end of December, so keep an eye out for those newspapers—and, of course, the municipality’s social media channels!”
Work
On December 30 and 31, the fireworks manufacturer will be carrying out preparatory work at the soccer club. This includes erecting fences around the grounds and delivering materials. De Weddeloop will be temporarily closed to traffic during this time. On January 1, the materials will be removed. There will be no road closures on that day.
