The Municipality Is Participating in the Voorschoten Weekend
During the Voorschoten Weekend, the municipality of Voorschoten will be present and active. The municipality is organizing a children’s city council and will have several booths set up at the market across from Albert Heijn.
The municipality is organizing a children’s city council specifically for children ages 10 to 12. To find out exactly what a city council does, children from Voorschoten can participate in a game session. This way, they can learn and experience what it’s like to serve on the city council. The sessions will be held at 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Mayor Nadine Stemerdink will chair the session, and actual council members will help guide the children.
Would you like to participate? Then sign up by September 7 at the latest via griffie@voorschoten.nl, or call 088-6549625.

Market Stalls
Visitors who would like to learn more about how the municipality maintains the green spaces in Voorschoten can visit a booth across from the Albert Heijn supermarket near the Kruispunt Church. There is a real garbage truck and a street sweeper on display, which children can explore. Staff from the Parks and Sanitation departments will explain how these vehicles work.
The municipality’s urban planning office will also be present. There, interested parties can discuss the development of the city center.
