Voorschoten Bicycle Light Campaign 2023
This fall, the annual regional Bike Light Check Campaign will be held once again. Cyclists can have their lights checked for free and repaired if necessary. The regional campaign day is Saturday, November 4. The campaign week will follow, running from Monday, November 6, through Saturday, November 11.
Fall has begun, and the days are getting shorter again. At this time of year, it’s especially important that your bike lights are working properly. “Seeing and being seen—that’s what it’s all about,” says Wim Wolting, president of the Voorschoten Cyclists’ Association. “This is important for your safety and that of others.” That’s why municipalities, the Fietsersbond, and Veilig Verkeer Nederland, together with bicycle dealers, are once again organizing a bicycle lighting campaign. On the day of the campaign, you can have your lights checked at participating bicycle dealers. If repairs are needed, you’ll only have to pay for the parts—not for labor.

In Voorschoten, the bike light promotion is taking place at Rijwielspecialist G. Besuyen, located at Voorstraat 13. You can also visit them the following week, through Saturday, November 11. They’ll offer a 10% discount on the total cost (parts plus labor) of bike light repairs. Take advantage of this promotion. Of course, the police continuously check for working bike lights. But in light of this campaign, they’ll be conducting inspections a bit more frequently in the coming weeks. So make sure your bike is fully prepared for the darker days ahead!
