Extract: Basic Registration of Persons

An extract from the Municipal Personal Records Database (in Dutch: Basis Registratie Personen – BRP) is an official document proving that you are registered as a resident of the municipality. The extract contains the following information: 

  • Name;
  • Address;
  • Residence;
  • Date of birth.

Request the extract from the municipality where you are registered.

What do I need?

Digital Request

  • Your DigiD or eIDAS credentials
  • Your online banking credentials

Personal request

  • Your valid identification
  • Cash or a debit card

Authorize Someone Else

The person being authorized should bring:

  • A written letter of consent bearing your signature
  • A copy of your valid identification
  • Their own valid identification

How long does it take?

  • If you request the extract from the municipality, you will receive it immediately.
  • If you requested the extract digitally, you will receive it by mail within three business days.

Additional information

To ensure that you receive the extract with all the necessary information, please inform the municipality of the reason why you need the extract.

If you need the extract for a foreign authority, it can be provided in multiple languages.

  • Costs statement: €14.60 (€7.55 if you arrange it online)
  • Cost of an international extract: €14.90

DigiD stands for Digital Identity and is used to conduct business with a (semi)governmental organization online. Anyone who has a citizen service number (BSN number) and is registered in the Municipal Personal Records Database (BRP) can apply for a DigiD.
