Energy Allowance for Students Living in Voorschoten

Students in Voorschoten who are struggling due to high energy bills can also apply for the 2022 energy allowance as of December 13. The amount is 1,300 euros.

There are several important conditions for receiving the energy allowance. For example, the student must have independent living arrangements and be 21 years of age or older. The student must also have been eligible for student financial aid as of January 1, 2022. Furthermore, the student’s income must be less than 120% of the minimum social income.

When calculating income, the municipality bases its assessment on the maximum amount the student is currently eligible to borrow. The municipality adds any income from a job or part-time job to this amount. “Independent living space” refers to a residence with its own front door, kitchen, and bathroom facilities. Roommates are not eligible for the energy allowance.
