One-time Energy Allowance for Low-Income Households
In December 2021, the government announced that compensation would be provided for energy costs. This means that low-income households will receive a one-time additional payment to help pay their energy bills. The municipality will handle the payment.
The municipality receives several inquiries about this compensation every day. We understand how important this is to our residents and therefore want to proceed with the payment of the allowance as soon as possible. However, before this can happen, there are still a few details that need to be worked out.
For example, the national government is required by law to ensure that municipalities are authorized to provide the energy allowance. The government has not yet finalized this process. In addition, the municipality still needs time to work out how to ensure residents receive the energy allowance quickly, easily, and without errors. Behind the scenes, we are therefore working hard to prepare for the payment and to make the application form available for those who are not registered as recipients of social assistance but are still eligible. We aim to make payments as soon as possible. As soon as the program is available, we will announce it on this website and on social media.
