Voorschoten Sustainability Fund
The municipality of Voorschoten has had a Sustainability Fund since October 2021. Residents of Voorschoten with a good idea for making Voorschoten more sustainable can apply for a grant from that fund. However, there are Requirements that you must meet in order to receive such a grant.
Every resident, foundation, school, or business can submit an application. What kind of things can you receive funding for? For example, for Health energy conservation, sustainable energy generation for at least 50 households, energy storage, a sustainable delivery system, or sustainable construction. But also for projects related to the circular economy, waste, nature initiatives, or the costs of execution or communication for a sustainable action. You may not use it to cover personnel costs. You are also not allowed to use the subsidy to make a profit. The amount you can apply for is between € 500 and a maximum of € 7,500.

Do you have a great idea to make Voorschoten more sustainable? Could you use some help in the form of funding from the municipality to carry it out? Below, we write the entire text using the formal form of address ("u"). Because that is our usual standard on the Voorschoten website to politely address everyone. But we would be thrilled if you, as a young person, also applied for this subsidy.
Would you like to apply for a subsidy from the Sustainability Fund?
Step 1: Answer the questions below to quickly see if there is a chance of receiving a subsidy for your own project
- Does this project contribute to making Voorschoten more sustainable?
- Are you applying for this contribution only once?
- Is this an application for a project of your own or a group you belong to?
- Are you a resident of or established in Voorschoten? Or is your project intended for Voorschoten and its residents?
- Is the amount I am applying for at least € 500 and a maximum of € 7,500?
Have you answered all questions with 'yes'?
Then there is a chance you can receive a subsidy from the Sustainability Fund. However, this is not guaranteed. Official rules have been established for this in a so-called regulation. You can download the regulation at the bottom of this page. You are welcome to submit an application.
Step 2: How to submit your application for the Sustainability Fund
Describe your project as clearly as possible in a maximum of 2 typed A4 pages using the following points.
- What is the goal of your action and who is it intended for?
- What result do you want to achieve with your action? What effect will this have on the sustainability of Voorschoten? Who, which target group, will you reach and in what way? How many people will you reach?
- Is a licence required for this promotion?
- How and with whom will you execute the project? Who is in the team and who has which task and responsibility?
- What is the schedule of your project? When will the project be completed?
- What will you use the subsidy for?
- What does your budget look like? (Costs and any income)
- How will you make your action visible to all residents? (communication/participation)
- When can you submit a review and financial accountability report?
- Your details as the applicant: your name, correspondence address, email address.
- Your signature and the date beneath the application.
Step 3: Submitting your application and subsequently
- Send your application by email to: Duurzaam@voorschoten.NL. You should receive confirmation that your application has been received within 5 working days.
- Within eight weeks, you will receive a response from the municipality stating whether or not you will receive the subsidy and the reasons for this decision.
